Your centre of legal excellence at the heart of Stockport
Probate is the legal certification (by the Probate Registry in the High Court) of a Will, authorising executors to handle the affairs of the deceased. Debts have to be settled and what is left distributed to those entitled or invested for infant or incapable beneficiaries.
When you are grieving for a loved one, the last thing you will want to do is sort out the paperwork. Our experienced Probate Lawyers can handle this for you.
We can assist in all aspects of the administration of a person's affairs following their death, including valuing the estate, completing the Inland Revenue account and dealing with any inheritance tax issues that arise, obtaining the Grant of Probate or Representation, the sale of land or property, collecting in and distributing assets to beneficiaries and dealing with income and capital gains tax issues. It is still possible to vary a person's Will after their death, if all beneficiaries agree, to make it more efficient for tax purposes.
